1 January 2024 I will begin teardown for frame off restoration whether under contract or not- Options 1 & 2 will be off the table

4 OPTIONS TO MAKE THIS YOUR 1ST Generation Early Bronco

U13 Roadster

This is among the rarest EBRs on the planet.  Roadsters were true work horses- Ranch Hands- Tractors.  This one even came with the same In-line 6 that was in tractors.  Without tops, they faced double the weather Inside Out.  They quit making and selling the U13 after 4090 units just 2 years after introduced.  Ford had to send doors and tops to Dealers to sell off the remaining Roadsters. Frame and Bodies are the same for more than 177,000 per year U14 Half Cabs and U15 Wagons.  There are slight differences in trim and accessories.

VIN U13 746517 indicates this Roadster rolled off the line in September of 1965. For this reason alone, this Roadster SHOULD be made concourse correct.  I've been DRIVING (not trailering) this EBR crisscross over highways, bi-ways and No-ways since 1998.  It has been tagged\ licensed (by me) in 6 states and titled in 3 states ---2 of which verified the VIN on Frame.  I took the matching Kickpanel VIN plate off myself, during 2015 frame on restoration as you can see in this photo album

How can you tell just how Rare this truck actually is when Fords records were destroyed in a fire, you ask?  Beyond doing the VIN math, The EYEBROW GRILL, Tailgate  & OEM STRAIGHT EDGE BUMPERS are tell tale indications that an Early Bronco was one of the first few thousand off the assembly line. Of course that isn't proof enough-- I have pictures showing the original Canary Yellow Paint on them as I refurbished them.

After 20+ years of driving this Restomod, I damaged the rear quarter panel and have to replace it,  BUT I am unable to make the decision to cut it for the big tires my lifestyle requires.  Thus I give the choices to YOU.  All options give the BUYER nearly all OEM parts to restore concourse correct- If that is buyers choice.

Option #1 As Is: $ 25,000

This truck is purchased where is, in its current state of dis-repair. Pickup from the Spacecoast (Cocoa Beach-Orlando) Florida Area. This Bronco underwent an extensive frame on restoration in 2015-   Click Here to see more than 1500 pictures taken during project - Instead of hiding anything and prettying this truck up, I have tried to expose all the trouble spots. Unfortunately, living the salt life has taken its toll.  At the bottom of this page are pictures of all the trouble spots that need attention --Option #1 is for the Do It Yourselfers--- Save or Make a ton of money!  I'll get it running and driving, but you'll need to keep it running. I assume it needs a tune up-- new plugs, wires, spark pack, fuel filters, etc-- the tank has less than 1 gallon of gas in it. BUYER GETS ALL PARTS LISTED - Note:  If buying As Is Option 1 I will install the 2 front fenders and hood before pickup (also comes with NIB uncut rear fenders, NIB Cowl , Front Drivers inner Apron and Passenger lower Rocker).

Option #2 Frame-On Restoration:  $40,000 A SOMEWHAT custom Classic Bronco.

I (Seller- at my expense) will add and install a Sniper EFI upgrade, Rear Disk Brakes and Power steering, new springs and shocks, as well as, replace all axle bearings, seals, fluids. I will repair / replace all 'troubled' metal and 'make new' all 'selected on-hand items'.  A frame on is a patch, repair, replace as necessary job, but this deal comes with some options and choices most sales don't. I will restore/ redress ALL PARTS Features and CHOICES listed ON HAND (engine, transfer, wheels, seats, bumpers, brakes, roll bar) OR Buyer can upgrade- *only replacement items- to their preferences, by sending new catalog items AT BUYERS EXPENSE... An example of this would be to send me your preferred seats and seatbelts instead of the (refurbished) ones on hand or perhaps a new v8 crate engine and I will install instead. There are some choices for buyer to make -- Since I'll be installing NEW Fenders- choice includes BODY STYLE (cut fenders or uncut). This truck has traveled from Nebraska to Seattle, back through to Texas, then Texas - North Carolina and then Down to Florida Fully Loaded with household goods on the same suspension, so the buyer gets a choice on the amount of SUSPENSION LIFT (upto 3.5 inches down to NO Lift)-- Shocks, leafs and Coil Springs at MY (SELLERS) EXPENSE.  *I will not lower further than stock height. Frame On restoration includes renewal OR replacement of most parts and exposed panels. Very little, if any, fill will be used on this truck- to be clear- this will NOT be a Bondo Job, but since we aren't sandblasting- The undercarriage And inside tub will remain Raptor lined (new in 2016), so I can't guarantee rust free, but I will sand, seal and reapply liner where needed. The outside of the truck will be acid washed and sealed (with your preferred surface preps-- Ready for your preferred paint and body person. All lines will be concourse correct.  Truck will be Paint/ body Shop Ready for delivery within  80 days.   [Condition and Terms Tab]

Option 1 & 2 is null and void once I bring frame to sandblaster, I will sell completely disassembled also

Option #3 Frame-Off Restoration: $60,000  The Truck will be COMPLETELY DISSASEMBLED AND REASSEMBLED with all new Hardware

I (Seller- at my expense) Include Upgrades Listed in option 2 PLUS a New wiring harness, New Bolt Hardware Kit, LED Headlights and turn signals. Option 3 Provides the opportunity for me to RESTORE TO FACTORY SPECS.  Engine Credit up to $2000- I have access to and can install either an inline 6 in OR a 1965 numbers matched 289- (the engine credit will go to having these remanufactured)  Buyer must help source very few missing factory parts (steering wheel, bezel and hubcaps).  For those of you wanting a Restomod- You’ll get EVERYTHING in Option 2.  All bolts, wiring, lights, lenses, seals, etc. will be brand new. The frame will be sandblasted and powder coated (your color choice). The body will be sandblasted and acid washed sealed (you decide sealant urethane, acrylic , etc). Seller chooses Underbed/ engine compartment / inner tub Coating and color Applied.  BONUS:  If YOU PROVIDE NEW general catalog items- I will install Bronco Wagon Options: A/C, Doors, Hard or Soft Top, After Market Gauges, Preferred Seats and belts, etc. *General catalog items limited to NO Further modification of frame required. Truck will be Paint/ body Shop Ready for delivery within  120 days. [Condition and Terms Tab]

Option#4 Frame-Off Restoration STOMPER BIG BUILD: $80,000   Are you one of those folks that want a $120- $180k Marvel?  You get everything in options 1-3 PLUS an extensive custom Classic Bronco.  While  I WILL NOT do Independent Suspension on this truck- AT YOUR EXPENSE- I will install All Upgrades NOT yet listed.

So what does this additional $20k over option 3 buy you? Essentially, we skip the line and get the help of some of the ORIGINAL fabrication and welding fellas that half of the aftermarket mods in catalogs are now sold by.  I’m willing to install All CATALOG Parts sent to me BEFORE FRAME powder coat and reassembly. You call it- Transmission and Transfer case combos (and the necessary cross member adjustments),  upgraded gearing and axles, brake lockers,  shock hoops, frame reinforcement and sway bars, lengthened radius arms, on board air,  etc..   I will install any engine (351, COYOTE, I’ll even TRY an Ecoboost conversion -which to my knowledge hasn't been done). NOTE:  ANTICIPATED delivery- Body shop ready within 180 days depending on options. [Condition and Terms Tab]

Current Condition:

The GOOD: VERY LIMITED edition Roadster,  comes with a lot of hard to find Original Equipment, has a great and well documented backstory by same owner for 20+ years Through many States. A budget conscious frame on restoration where all trouble spots were repaired with NEW metal in 20015. Over 700hrs was put into the rebuild of this truck. Driver and Passenger Floors, both complete door rockers and Drivers side front door post and center seat pan were all replaced in 2015. I spent a lot of time adding new steel to both striker posts. I have hundreds of pictures of this frame on restoration.  I have gone out of my way to expose trouble spots-   It is currently drivable.  I start it every couple of months with a couple of squirts of starter fluid.  A good tune up and a carb rebuild is all that's likely needed to keep it running, on highways and byways… though I didn't feel very comfortable over 70mph, but I never had new tires or power steering on it either.  The BAD: Since frame on  restoration 8 years ago the truck has been waterfront wasting away in the very Salty Air. Was my daily driver for 6  years and decided to park it after the drivers side rear axle SHEARED right off.  (good story) ripping the rear quarter up to taillight line.  It will need replaced which leads me (OR THE BUYER) to decide whether to replace rear quarters with cut or uncut panels.  The 1966 hood is to far to rusted in the front-- All Options come with a NEW Hood (post 1968 2 post brace version).  And the ugliest info is the cowl repair.  I don't know how deep this rabbit hole goes…New hood,  cowl and all 4 fenders come with all options. Complete Cowl replacement WILL BE DONE in options 2, 3 and 4.

Terms:

Option 1  $25,000 paid in cash I will sign and hand title over to you.  I will even go to the Florida register with you to make sure the title transfer goes through smoothly. Take all listed parts with you (and some not listed) You will get All pictures I’ve taken over the years on a disk drive.

Option 2  Same as option 1.  Additionally- A Build Contract will be signed by Buyer and Restorer. The Build Contract will stipulate a required 30% remainder. $40k -$24k= $15k(.30) = $4,500 due at signing. $10,500 due upon delivery estimated NLT 100 days after signing.

Option 3 Same as options 1 and 2 where the remainder is $60k-$25k=$35k(.30) =$10,500 due at signing. $24,500 due upon delivery estimated NLT 120 days after signing.

Option 4 Same as options 1 and 2 where the remainder is $80k-$25k=$55k(.30) =$16,500 due at signing. $41,500 due upon delivery estimated NLT 180 days after signing.

The Build Contract

The Build Contract will help both parties to understand EXACTLY what YOUR Custom Bronco will look like and who is responsible for each expense.  I have included budgets in Options above and the buyer can exceed those budgets by sending preferred equipment.  Builder will remove expense(s) from final amounts due upon delivery.  I want this truck to be perfect for the buyer and last 50 more years, so we’ll need to work out numerous and various details, before, during and perhaps even after.

I DONT do paint.  For Option 2 (limited), 3 and 4- I can and will spray (colored) Raptor Liner underneath, inside tub and or engine compartment if desired, but painting is NOT my forte’.  Paint is a very personal thing. This truck was originally Canary Yellow. If you’d like to contract a Body painter locally, I can bring preassembly parts to your painter so they can protect the hard to reach spots on the hood, windshield frame, dashboard, steering column, tailgate, hinges, roll bar, flares, etc. The dashboard, steering Colum, roll bar, calipers, drums can also be powder coated, before assembly, but keep in mind Powder coats fade in UV light.  I can also drop off the whole tub to YOUR painter with the proviso that I get it back within 30 days.

My Qualifications:

While EVERY Bronco is its OWN Rabbit hole- This one is very well known to me.  Heck.  I used to sleep  under it instead of pitching a tent through 25+ states.  To see this Bronco get restored is a personal matter to me.  I’d love to do it, but ONLY this truck.  Besides owning THIS Early Bronco for 20+ years and traveling coast to coast 2x, I've assisted in at least 10 rebuilds and restorations in the last 5 years gearing up for THIS restoration. Bronco folks hang together (if you didn't know).  The people I know locally have decades of experience SPECIFICALLY working on 1st Generation Broncos. Their restoration numbers are in the hundreds. I can depend on them to help whenever in need for those *critical questions and have worked beside them and gained experience that NO restoration shop could know, UNLESS they ONLY restore Broncos. Even before the final paint and body work expenses the buyer will inevitably decide on-- these Build Options prices are substantially lower than you would find at a shop to CUSTOMIZE an Early Bronco you provided to them AND is still commiserate of current sale prices on Ebay or Auction houses for similar.  I can offer this (discount) because my overhead is miniscule in comparison to a shop and It takes me half the time to get parts installed. My friends and I know the most efficient and effective ways to both disassemble and reassemble regardless of components. I started posting pictures on facebook to show some  of the Broncos I have assisted with repairs and restorations since 2017.   While I believe I'm the best fit to restore this Bronco. you can always choose option 1.

Knowing is Half the Battle

Living on the waterline is rough on metal.  I'm not the kinda fella who covers things up, to make them pretty-- Instead my response was to spray paint areas where the sun had worn through the 17 year old clear coat and I chose to use a (new) burgundy sealer on scratched and surface rusted areas as I intended to a frame off restoration--what you see is the result. This Bronco has always been an investment that is intended to help me purchase a piece of  land.

$50 bucks worth of rattle can paint, some filler, a wash and wax and I can make this truck LOOK pretty good.  INSTEAD-  I used a paint scraper to expose any surface bubbling or rust looking for soft spots where there could be bigger issues like any buyer should.

Scroll the pictures below (click to enlarge) for current condition, equipment this deal come with.  For options 2,3 and 4 Choice items will be cleaned, polished and made new where stated.

Eyebrow Grill, Eyebrow Tailgate, Flat Edge Bumpers close-ups

The Ugly Trouble Spots---

My preliminary assessment of needed repairs.  Each one of these spots could be a rabbit hole--- As you can see, I used a 7 in 1 scraper to expose scratched undercoats and surface rust areas and pushed through soft spots.  If you are a DIYer and purchase Option 1 --- what you see below, is likely as bad as it gets.  While the Cowl might turn into a rabbit hole, I think the other spots are pretty straightforward to fix- but you know as well as I do. that as soon as you put a flap disk, cut off wheel or chisel to it and pull a panel down - what is found is anybody's guess.  If you purchase any other option you will get pictures under before, during and after every repair on a SD card with all pictures I've ever taken of this truck.

Drivers side Inner front apron needs repaired/ replaced and some rear bed plate stitching -- Passenger lower rocker assembly needs replaced along with some upper floor pan stitching-- striker post repair / replacement-- Cowl complete replacement-- Driver side rear quarter repaired or replaced

Suspension & Undercoat

At Sellers Expense, Options 2, 3, 4 will provide NEW Coil & Leaf Springs (and polyurethane bushings) as well as shocks. Buyer can choose colors and lift.

I scraped off 50 year factory undercoat in 2015 by hand--- It took me a week and I couldn't use my hands even to pick up a beer for 3 weeks afterwards.... then I raptor lined it grey.  If you are a DIY option 1 buyer, this undercoat will clean up nice and quick.  If you purchase option 2- Frame on, I'll fix coating (after metal repairs) and make it whatever color you want. Options 3 and 4 have the choice for me to reapply coating whatever color is preferred/ available if desired, or to leave it acid washed- sealed and primed.

Parts

All Buyer Options come with all parts shown or listed here (and some not listed).  Take the extra ones and sell or leave them, but choice(s) must be made at contract signing as I will only 'refurbish' items being installed.

Choose your Wheels

Note:  If buying Option 1 or 2 -I will install whichever set you chose on used [matching rubber]. Options 2, 3 and 4 choice will be polished / refurbished. Option 3 or 4 will get $1000 credit towards new rubber for whichever rim you choose
